一、学习目标



1.语言知识目标: 1)学生能够正确读写及运用以下单词: modern culture AD actually present(adj.) rule(v.) vocabulary usage identity government Singapore Malaysia rapidly 2)学生掌握下列词组的意思并能在句子中熟练运用: play a role (in) because of come up such as play a part (in) 2.语言技能目标: 1)强化略读、查某某等阅读技能,训练通过寻找关键词,主题句等方式更快速并准确地确定文章的段落大意,理清文章的总体框架与脉络。 2)继续运用已经掌握的基本猜词技巧猜测文章中的部分单词,增强阅读理解能力。 3.情感态度目标: 1)通过对世界英语这一话题的探讨,加强学生对英语语言的了解,对英语语言的起源、发展变化、形成原因,以及它的发展趋势的了解。同时增强学生学习英语的兴趣,珍惜学习英语的机会。 2)在小组合作互动中,增强学生的团队合作精神与分享意识。 3)培养学生自主学习的能力。



二、导学重难点



 【教学重点】 学生通过阅读了解世界英语及英国英语和美国英语的差别,初步认识相关词语。 【教学难点】英语语言的新趋势和新特点,明确为什么会出现世界英语。



三、学情分析



1.高中年龄段的学生对周围的事物较为敏感,有自己的观点和看法,他们不满足教科书上的知识,让学生主动学习,学有所获,如上网查阅资料,获取更多的信息。

2.学生不只想把英语作为一门死记硬背的课程来学,更希望能学到知识性和趣味性兼有的内容,从英语学习中获得更多的知识和能力。



四、教学方法



1.本课采用 阅读前—阅读中—阅读后 三大板块构成的阅读教学模式。 2.培养学生与老师、同学交流信息,交换看法,小组合作学习和自主探究学习。 3.采用多媒体课件作为主要的教学手段。多媒体课件可以将文字、图象、声音三者结合起来,更加活泼生动,易于为学生所接受,也能够更好地服务于教学。同时,借助黑板、粉笔等辅助手段开展教学活动。

StepII.阅读课文,探究相关内容 1 Fast reading: individual work ( 3m ) Read the text and find out the answers to the questions of Ex. 1 on page 10. 2. Careful reading:Pair work: (10m ) 1) Read the text and try to find the main idea of each paragraph. (Work in pairs) Paragraph 1: describes the extension of English in the world. Paragraph 2: tells us native speakers can understand each other but not everything. Paragraph 3: tells the development of English as native language. Paragraph 4: tells us English is spoken as a foreign or second language in many countries.

2) Check the answers. Ask some students to tell their answers, after giving the answers, they should also tell how they find the answers, then give the suggested answer

快速阅读后要求学生了解文章大意,并能独自解决阅读理解问题

仔细阅读是快速阅读的延续。仔细阅读后要求学生先找出全文的大意,再找出每段的大意。提醒学生在写作中注意运用主题句构思作文的方法。



Step III.生词短语, 熟练掌握运用 1要求学生再读课文,找出生词和短语,猜词义,如有困难,讨论并解决。 2 教师设置任务,并提问检查,确保学生掌握并能熟练运用。 1)词语搭配 1.come up       A. evidence of intellectual development of (arts,science,etc) in human society. 2. culture       B. reach; close to 3. actually      C. English is a young language, which grows from other languages, such as German,French and so on. The English language today is actually based more on French than on German. At present, we know there are more than 42 countries where the majority of people speak English and the number of people learning English is increasing rapidly. English plays an very important part in the world. However,English is not exactly the same in different countries.When different cultures communicate with each other, all languages in the world will change.The different vocabulary and usage ?will come up in different parts of the English speaking world, which makes English in different countries have its own identity. It’s not easy for a Chinese person to learn English well even if he has known hundreds of grammar rules, while native English speakers have no difficulty in understanding each other.

在这个环节,加深学生对本课中出现的重点单词词组的印象,以便更好的理解课文。



Step IV. 讨论交流,真实运用语言 Discussion ( 5m ) Group work: Discuss in group of four, then ask the students to show their ideas. 1. What can you learn from this passage? 2. Do you think it matters what kind of English you learn, why?

Possible answer: I don’t think so. Here are the reasons: Native speakers from different parts of the world have no difficulty in understanding each other despite the fact that they speak a bit differently. It is necessary for us to learn the narrow difference between different kinds of English if we hope to communicate fluently with native speakers of English from all over the world. Different kinds of English have the same language core. If you have got a good command of one kind, you will almost have no difficulty understanding another kind of English. (Any persuasive and supporting reason the students give can be accepted.)



3. Why do you think people all over the world want to learn English?

Possible answer: The reasons why people all over the world want to learn English: With economy globalization, English has become the best bridge to serve the purpose of people all over the world communicating with one another. However, like all major languages in the world, English is always changing. In order to adjust to native speakers from different parts of the world, it is a must for people all over the world to learn English, whether in English speaking countries or in non-English speaking countries. Also, people from different parts of the world speak English with various accent and dialects, and people have to learn about the difference between different kinds of English in order to avoid misunderstanding while communicating. (All persuasive reasons can be accepted.)



4. Will Chinese English become one of the World English?

学生四人一组,谈论自己的想法和看法。在交流中统一认识,由其中一人向全班汇报讨论结果。如其他组同学不同意或有异议,相互间可展开辩论

通过这一环节,进一步拓展话题,让学生了解各国英语之间的差异,并引导学生运用相关语言,有效地培养学生的口语表达能力。



Step V.作业 Write a passage “English”,using the following sentences as the main idea of each paragraph. 1. English is spoken all over the world. 2. Why do people want to learn English? 3. Chinese English will become one of the World English.



在讨论后,提供各段大意(主题句)进行写作,与前面的快速阅读课文后,找出各段大意的教学任务互相呼应,锻炼学生的写作能力及对文章整体结构的了解。
