Teaching Objectives:
Students can learn some useful words and expressions in this
part.
Students are able to grasp the main idea and information while
reading.
Through group discussion, students can develop the sense of
group cooperation and teamwork.
Teaching Key and Difficult Points:
Students can describe the changes of gravity by using discourse markers.
With the guidance of teacher, students are able to organize the
problem-solution writing.
Teaching Procedures:
Step 1: Warming up
Group competition
1. Which country first sent people up to space?
2. Who is the first Chinese astronaut(宇航员) to go into space?
3. What is the earth’s natural satellite?
4. Who is the first man landing on the moon?
2. Show some pictures about spacetrip
Step 2: Reading
Task 1:
Skim the 4 paragraphs quickly, and summarize the main idea of each paragraph:
Para 1: Last month, we visited the moon.
Para 2: How the force of gravity changed.
Para 3: The things I did on the moon.
Para 4: We returned to the earth.
Task 2: Scanning
Answer the following questions.
1. Who do I have a chance to travel to the moon with ?
2. How did we travel to the moon?
3. How many times would the force of gravity change on our journey?
Which change would be the most powerful?
Task 4:Careful Reading
Please read Para.2 and underline the sentences about the gravity and our weight during the journey? And describe the three ways in which gravity changed for Li Yanping and how his weight changed.
Suggested Andwers:
Read Para 3 and anwser the following question.
Q: What happened to me when I tried to step forward? Why?
Read Para 4 and anwser the following question.
Q:What was my feeling while returning to the earth? Use some adjectives (形容词)to describe it.

After discussing, ask the students to write a short passage about problem-solution.
Traveling to the moon is always my dream.However, here is a problem I might have: _______
In the spaceship there is no gravity so the food would float around. Firstly ,I would make sure that it is specially made as liquid space food.
It could be put in a tube in order to eat it more easily. Then, perhaps I would use a straw to eat it.
If the food problem are solved, I believe I can fully enjoy the trip to the moon.
Summary and Homework:
Memorize the sample.
