教学设计
Topic:Healthy eating
Analysis of the unit and students:Warming Up部分通过图片和表格向学生展示食物的分类法,探讨各种食物对人体的作用,然后通过询问学生的个人饮食习惯来引导学生关注膳食平衡;Pre-Reading部分设计了讨论题,然后让学生根据文章标题和插图来预测内容,讨论题有助于调动学生的相关背景知识,为深入理解阅读文章的内容做铺垫; Reading部分主要讲述了王鹏和永辉开餐馆竞争的故事。
Arrangement of class:
1st period: Warming Up and Pre-Reading
2nd period: Reading
Teaching aims:
知识与技能:了解本单元所讲述的故事内容,理解文章所反映出来的现代人对饮食的关注和对时尚的追求。在知识点方面,教会学生如何给予劝告、提出建议,表达同意与不同意以及如何就医;还要教会学生掌握情态动词ought to的用法以及本单元出现的词汇的用法。
② 过程与方法:本单元通过对“健康饮食”这一主题的研究,使学生了解饮食习惯、饮食结构与饮食文化方面的知识。在教授过程中强调让学生结合自己的日常饮食习惯发言和参与讨论,提高学生对文本内容的兴趣。
③ 情感态度与价值观:引导学生学习健康饮食的知识,领悟膳食平衡对健康身体的作用,养成热爱钻研的好习惯。 Important and difficult points:
The comprehension of some important words and expressions: get away with, win back, earn one’s living,spy on, before long;important grammar:the usage of “ought to”.
Teaching strategy: class activities; discussion, listening, pair work, group task; teaching media: watching short videos
Teaching steps:
Period 1: Warming Up and Pre-Reading
Aims:
To show students how different kinds of food are grouped according to the benefit they give us.
To teach students to have a balanced diet.
Procedures
I. Warming up
1. Warming up by asking them the following two questions:
1). Ask question 1:“Why do you think the food is divided into different groups?”
2). Ask question 2:“How does this information help you make a healthy meal?”
3). Let students design a meal which they enjoy. Then encourage them to analyze their meal according to the categories of food set out in the textbook.
4). After analyzing, ask them to think about if their meal is balanced. Does it include food from each of the three categories? What (if anything) is missing?
5). Examine the questions in the textbook. The first three questions are all personal questions so answers will vary. The forth question requires knowledge.
Ⅱ.Pre-reading
1). Divide the class into several groups
2). Group Task: ask the students to think about the answers to the questions in the textbook and then have a short group discussion
Period 2 Reading:Come and eat here
Aims:
To understand the story
To practice the skills of fast reading and careful reading
To learn new words and expressions
Step 1 Skimming
Read quickly to get the main idea of the text.(key words)
Step 2 Scanning
Find out the key sentence or conclude main ideas of each paragraph
Step 3 Carefully Reading
1. Complete “T or F” in comprehending
2. Group task: Find out the important words and expressions. Summarize the usage of them with your group members.
3. Discussion:
1) What makes a balanced diet?
2) What is wrong with the diets of both Wang Peng and Yong Hui?
3) Why does it matter if you only eat at Wang’s or Yong’s restaurant ?
课后反思:
Period 1部分为warming up 和pre-reading,内容比较灵活,活动较多,多媒体应用较多,主要为了调动学生参与课堂的积极性,激发学生的兴趣和对课堂的注意力。所以鼓励学生多参与进来,在此部分应控制好学生的积极参与度和课堂秩序之间的平衡,以免出现纪律失控等问题。
Period 2 为阅读课,英语阅读教学是高中教学的重中之重。但是在训练过程中要注意把握学生自主阅读的方式和时间的控制。教师教授阅读方式上也存在较多的问题如过分注重语法点和长难句的翻译,忽视技巧的培养。讨论环节应充分发挥学生的主动性,不能让讨论成为学生闲聊的空挡,注重讨论效率。鼓励学生对问题有多种间接,学生不积极发言的现状要努力改变。要鼓励学生多思考同时勇于开口说英语。
