八、教材分析

本单元的核心话题是描述动物和表达个人喜好,以及句式Why do you like …?Because …。这也是本单元的教学重点。通过本单元的学习,学生应能较流利地运用所学词汇和句型描述动物,表达个人喜好。

九、教学目标

1. Master the vocabulary.

2. Master and use the following structures:

Why do you like koalas? Because they’re cute.

Where are pandas from? They're from China.

What animals do you like? I like giraffes.

十、教学重难点:

1、重点:

学习本单元的词汇,用what、why、where引导的特殊疑问句,用because表示原因以及形容词的使用。

2、难点:

准确使用形容词对自己感兴趣的事物进行描述。

十一、课时安排

第二课时:完成Section A 2a-2d

The Second Period (Section A, 2a-2d )

I. Teaching aims (教学目标)

熟悉动物的名称(单复数形式和读音);

熟悉动物的特性(cute, smart, etc.)以及代表的国家

3. 谈论自己喜欢的动物并陈述理由;学问他人对动物的喜好以及理由;

4. 热爱动物,培养人和动物之间的和谐关系

Step1.Warm-up and revision (课堂热身和复习)

Greet Ss.Talk about the animals =Students learned about in the first period.

【教学设计说明】通过描述动物,达到复习与巩固的作用。同时增进同学之间相互了解。

Step 2. Work on 2a

Julia and John are at the zoo. Listen to their conversation in 2a and write the animals you hear. Then match the animals with the description words.

Check the answers. Explain the words “very” and “kind of”.

Keys: 1.pandas are kind of interesting from China .

2.Koalas are very cute from Australia.

3.Lions are really scary from South Africa.

Step 3. (2b) .Listen again.Complete the conversation with the words in 2a.

Let Ss complete the conversation in 2b first.

Have Ss get into groups to share their ideas.

Listen and check the answers. Ask some groups to present their conversations to the class.

【教学设计说明】此环节进一步巩固了本堂课所学的词汇和句型。通过反复听读,可以让学生尽快熟悉生词。学生填表格,是检查学生能否听懂并拼写所学单词。

Step 4. Work on 2c (完成2c)

Julia likes koalas. Where are koalas from?

Describe a kind of animal and let Ss guess what it is.

(He is from South Africa. He likes meat a lot and he is very dangerous. He is the king of the animals.)

3. Have Ss ask their classmates about their favorite animals and the reasons why they like them. Ss can use the words from the boxes in 2a and 2b. Then, have some Ss present their friends’ favorite animals to the class.

【教学设计说明】此环节既能充分练习学生的目标语言,使学生学以致用,同时也能极大的调动学生们的课堂参与率,并且能为有绘画特长的孩子提供一个展示的空间。

Step 5.Role-play the conversation(完成2d)

(1)Read the conversation and answer the following questions.

Q1. Why does Peter like his dog?

Q2. What can Dingding do?

Q3. Why doesn’t Jenny like the cat?

(2) Role-play the conversation in 2d.

(3) Have Ss make conversations using 2d as an example.

【教学设计说明】学生通过回答问题能理解对话的内容,通过角色扮演能在情境中学会运用,通过自编对话能更好的让学生学以致用。
