Step1: lead-in
Introduce some natural disasters to students.(引起学生的学习兴趣,导入到要讲的话题)
Step2: Fast reading:
1: What does the passage mainly talk about?
2: Divide the passage into three parts and find out the main idea of each part.(通过skimming这一阅读策略,学生能够获取文章大意以及每一段的主题句)
Careful reading
1: Read the first paragraph together and find what happened before the earthquake?
2: Read next two paragraphs and fill in the blanks.
3: Read last part and find what did the soldiers and rescue workers do for the city?(通过细读,学生能够对文章细节做进一步了解并完成相关练习)
Step4: Retelling and Discussion
1: Summary: Retell the text by filling the following blanks.(通过填空,学生对文章做一个总结)
2; Discussion: Suppose there would be an earthquake, what should we do to keep ourselves safe?(小组作业,学生通过讨论,找出更多在地震中保护自己的方法)
