Warming up& Reading (Period one)

Part 1 The understanding of this lesson

In this period the teaching and learning will center on speaking and reading.

Teaching Important Points:

Help students know about the importance and ways to protect animals.

Develop students’ speaking and reading abilities.

Teaching difficulties:

Find out the information in the text.

Develop students’ reading ability.

Three Dimensional Teaching Aims

Knowledge Aims:

Let students know about wildlife and different ways to protect them.

Teach them how to find the information according to the clue that the text offers.

Ability Aims:

Improve students’ speaking ability.

Develop students’ reading ability, such as scanning, careful reading.

Emotional Aims:

Help the students to set up interests in the protection of wild animals even our earth.

Analysis of students

They are familiar with some animals, but it is difficult for them to talk about what problems the animals meet and how they can help the animals. They are lack of vocabulary so they couldn’t focus on the lesson.

Part 2 Teaching theories, methods and aids

Teaching methods

Question-and-answer activity; Watch-and-listen activity;role-play;free discussion method; Pair work or individual work method.

Learning Methods

(1) Train Ss to study independently;

(2) Guide Ss to master and use reading skills;
