Teaching procedure

Step 1. Revision

Make New Year’s resolutions.

Revise the structure Be going to

Step 2.Lead-in

 1.Show the learning points.

  2.In this unit , we’ll make predictions about future. Can you guess what will happen in 100 years ? I’ll think people will live to be 100 years. With the development of technology, people will get healthier food and better medical care.(Collect students’ answers and say something about predictions)

Step 3. Presentation

Show pictures and say the predictions in 1a.

Look at the pictures .How will the world be different in 100 years from now. We’re going to talk about something in 100 years.

Explain the new vocabulary.

Step 4. Listening

 Listen and circle the prediction you hear in 1a.

 1.Practice reading the six predictions.

 2.Read the instructions to students.

 3.Play the tape twice.

 4.Play the tape again. And check the answers.

Step 5.Pairwork

  A student make questions using the information in 1a. Then another answers.

Step6. Listening 2

 1.Study the differences between less and fewer.

 2.There will be……

Step 7.Role-play conversation

 Make conversations about the predictions in 2a and 2b.

 1.point to the example in the sample dialogue.Practice reading.

 2.Look at the conversation in 2c.Group work:Take turns to make conversations about the predictions.

Step 7 Pairwork

  Make conversations about the predictions in 2a and 2b.

Step 8 Summary and consolidation

 This class we’ve learnt some adverbs.And we’ve learnt to talk about our future.Now let’s do some exercises in PPT.

 After class you should remember the words in this part,and finish your homework.

Step 9 Homework

Make predictions about yourself in 10 years. Write down 5 sentences.

Go over the new words.

Finish the exercises in the first period.
