一、教学内容分析(简要说明课题来源、学习内容、知识结构图以及学习内容的重要性)
The subject of this module is to ask and talk about dates, and conduct a series of communicative activities around this topic, so that students can grasp the expression of dates and use the special questions (-when)to discuss dates and special events. Learning the composition of ordinal numbers and know how to use ordinal numbers to express dates, mastering words and sentence patterns in English for year, month and day can skillfully talk about topics related to dates. In addition, students should learn the composition and usage of the noun personality (possessive’s ) to talk about ownership.
Meanwhile, this part will help students master the new words and structures such as “January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December, first~ thirty-first.” “When is your birthday? When is her birthday? How old are you? My/ Her birthday isXXXXX”

The teaching aims are discussed as follows. Firstly, the knowledge objectives are to make students be able to master the new words , such as when, month, January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December and so on. And the sentence structures of “ When is your birthday? My birthday is on... /It’s on...” should be mastered. Secondly, the ability objectives are to let students have the general understanding of the text, master the usage of special question (-when), make simple conversations about birthdays, and improve their listening and speaking abilities. The last one is emotional objectives. Let students know their friends and families’ birthday and cultivate the sense of cooperation and fraternal love.
三、学习者特征分析(学生对预备知识的掌握了解情况,学生在新课的学习方法的掌握情况,如何设计预习)
The students have been learning English since the primary school, so they have accumulated a lot of vocabulary and grammatical knowledge. They can read some simple texts and make some simple conversations, and can consciously obey the rules in the classroom. However, some students have a poor foundation of English and they are not enough brave to speak English in public. There is no doubt that students should be encouraged to communicate with others to develop their comprehensive abilities.
The topic is birthday. It is a topic that children are very concerned about and fond of. It is helpful to motivate students’ interests to share their experience and participate in activities actively.
四、教学过程(设计本课的学习环节,明确各环节的子目标,画出流程图)
Teaching process includes 4parts and 7steps. Step1. Lead-in: Greet the students as usual and enjoy a song to stimulate students’ interests. Step2. Learn new words: learn new words with pictures and practice the words with an activity named “ I point, you read”. Step3. Pre-listening: Students talk about their favourite month and learn a new song called “Song of months”. Step4. Listening: Listen to 1b twice and number the conversations. Step5. Practice: Teacher encourages students to find out the key points and write them on the note book, then teacher will explain and practice them. Step6. Consolidation and summary: Teacher divides the whole class into 6 groups, lets them make new conversations in groups. Then, guides students to review the key points and give the motto. Step7. Homework.

Part one: lead in
1. Greeting: Good afternoon, my boys and girls. How are you today?
2. Set a situation: Today is Li Ming’s birthday. Welcome to his birthday party.
3. Enjoy a song: Listen and sing together “Happy birthday!”
4. Learn the new words with pictures.Then listen and repeat these word, following the radio.
5. Activity: I point, you read. Teacher points the word on the blackboard casually, lets students read
Greet with the teacher.
Students are interested in the topic and take part in the activity actively and learn the new words well with the help of pictures and radio.
Before the class, listening to and singing a song will set up a relaxing environment and arouse students’ interests.Activities are used to enhance the memory of words.
Part two: listening
1. Pre-listening: Learn the song named “Song of the months” after teacher. Then practice the song by different speed and volume.
2. While Listening: Listen carefully and number the conversations 1-3.
3. After reading: Ask a volunteer to check the answers and give a star to her/his group. Then let students read out the conversation with the teacher’s guidance.
4. Practice and Take notes:
Students buried themselves in the listening, and caught up with the teacher’s step
Finally, their listening skill improved.
The English songs not only increase the interests of class, attract students’ attentions, but also enhance the memory of words. By changing the speed and volume, make the students feel the beauty of music.After listening, ask students to read the conversations, which can make them understand the text deeply. Encouraging them to read and speak in public is very necessary.

Part three: Summary
Review the knowledge we learned today.
Give some sentences to summarize the class, make students learn to love family, love life and cherish time.
Students understand the knowledge well by reviewing. They also learn to cherish time, arrange time reasonably, and get along well with friends and family, so that they can sublimate their emotion.
At the end of class, the teacher guides students to review key points, which is helpful for students to strengthen memory and understanding of knowledge.
Part four:Homework
1. Ask students to memorize words of month.
2. Ask students to write down two conversations.
3. Let students do the exercises.
Students will finish the homework carefully.
To assign homework is necessary for students to consolidate knowledge. It is a good way of detecting students’ harvest and classroom efficiency.

Listening and enjoying the English songs during class time are conducive to attract students' attention, stimulate students' interest in learning and naturally lead in the learning themes. Pictures are very important to learn words. Combine pictures and new words to facilitate understanding and memory, help students understand words, deepen students' impressions of new words, and try to make every student understand these words and phrases
.This teaching makes me profoundly aware that there are still many deficiencies in English teaching. The teaching style is not dignified, the teacher's language is not concise enough, and the use of expression and body language is not natural enough. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the practice in the following days. Accumulate professional knowledge, enhance professional skills, develop interests and hobbies.
