Unit 3 Travel journal

Period 1 Warming up, Pre-reading

A.Teaching content and analysis

Teaching content:

Function : Talk about how to make future plans

New words: journal transport prefer disadvantage fare persuade stubborn organize determine ever since be fond of care about change one’s mind make up one’s mind as usual at midnight

Structures: when are you leaving? Where are you staying?

How are you going to…? How long are you staying in …?

B.Teaching aims:

1.To enable students to use the words describing the future plan in oral and written English in real life;

2.To enable students to ask and answer questions about future plans in stimulated communicative activities.

3.By completing the task, the students increase their interest in different culture and set up their own national identity

4.To develop the students’ ability of cross-culture communication

C.predicting problems and analysis

1.To know about how to plan to a travel

2.To know about the key point knowledge of this unit

D.Teaching methods:

1.3P (presentation practice production)model;

2.TBLT method (total situation action and task-based language teaching)

Teaching reflection

The students tend to learn more easily while looking at the maps and pictures of the scenery along the bike trip. And therefore , showing more slides while teaching may make teaching and learning more effectively
