一、The analysis of teaching material
The topic of this module is “What’s the best movie theater?” The main focus is on “communicating about the people or things and with superlatives, and discussing daily life and other content.” This lesson is the first lesson of Section A, and the lesson is a new lesson. Presenting the vocabulary and pictures of cinemas, clothing stores, seats, etc., which are closely related to people's lives, point out the main points of the course and introduce the key sentence patterns of this lesson, What's the best movie theater? Let the students combine the pictures according to the given words. Sentence training is a warm-up phase that lays the foundation for the next listening and speaking. The classroom design of this lesson is a combination of group awarding, group discussion and performance, group mutual evaluation and teacher evaluation. Through the study of this lesson, let students understand the main content of this lesson and pay attention to life and love life.

五、Teaching ideas
The content of this lesson is close to the students' daily life habits and is closely related to each student's life. Therefore, in order to better stimulate students' interest in learning and make students apply what they have learned, the following teaching ideas are specially designed:

Step1 Lead-in
1. Greet the whole class as usual.
2. Give some information about three movie theaters, and let the students talk about:

4. Discussion

1. Ask Ss to read the sentences in the chart of 1b. Make sure they know the meaning of the sentences.
2. Play the recording for the Ss to listen and match the statement with the right movie theaters.
3. Play the recording again. Ask Ss to fill in the blanks.

1. Let Ss read the model in 1c with a partner.

Ask Ss to look at the picture in 2a and tell them that a reporter is interviewing a boy about the best clothes store and the best radio station in Green City.
Work on 2a:
1. Read the questions and answers in 2a. Tell Ss to remember the information.
2. Play the recording for the Ss to listen and circle the boy’s answers.
3. Play the recording again to check the answers.
Work on 2b:
1. Let Ss read the sentences below. Explain some main sentences to the Ss. Make sure they know what to do.
2. Play the recording for the Ss to write the correct store or radio station next to each statement.
3. Play the recording again and ask ss to fill in the blanks.
Reporter: What’s the best clothes store in Green City?
Boy: Miller’s is the best. It has the best clothes and you can buy clothes the most cheaply there.
Reporter: What do you think about the other stores?
Boy: Well, Blue Moon is in a _________ of town, but it’s the most expensive. And Dream Clothes is ______ than Blue Moon. It has the worst ________ in town. It’s the worst store.
Reporter: OK. What about radio station?
Boy: 107.9 FM is the best. The DJs choose songs the most carefully. They always play ________________ music.

Step 3 Practice
1. Tell Ss Student A is the reporter. Student B is the boy. Role-play the conversation.
2. Let Ss read the conversation.
3. Ss act the conversation in pairs. Ask some pairs to act out their conversations.

1. Read the conversation and answer the two questions:

2. Practice the conversation with their partners. Then let some pairs to act out the conversation.

Language points.
1) close
作形容词, 可意为“(在空间、时间上)接近”。be close to ...意为“离……近”。如:
Their birthdays are very close together.
Children’s Park is close to my house.
作动词, 可意为“关; 关闭; 闭上; 不开(停止营业)”。如:
The door closed quietly.
If you close your eyes, you can’t see anything.
The shops close at 5:30.
2) What’s the best clothes store in town?
in town是一个短语,表示“在说话人所在或所指的城镇”的意思。作这一用法
时,town是不可数名词, 不与冠词连用。
e.g. She left town.她已不住在这里了。
3) How do you like it so far?
so far意为“迄今为止,到目前为止”,常与现在完成时连用,既可放在句首、句中,也可放在句尾。如:
So far he has done very well at school.
