教材分析
本节课是第八模块的第一单元,为听说课。本课对话是由詹姆斯老师亲眼所见的一起交通事故引出的。通过詹姆斯老师对事故的描述,自然引入了过去进行时这一语法项目。同时对话描述了可能发生在学生身边的突发事件,不但能提高学生的学习热情,也有助于提高学生的安全意识。
语言知识目标
话题:有关交通事故及其预防措施。
语法:过去进行时(与when/while引导的状语从句连用)
词汇与句型:8个核心词汇(round, corner, hit, glad, in time, fall off, side, side by side)。
2个重点句型(A boy was riding his bike and listening to music on the road.
While the lights were changing to red, a car suddenly appeared.)
语言技能目标
听:能够听懂别人对事故的描述。
说:能够简单叙述所发生的事故。
(3)读:掌握本单元新词汇和句型,流利朗读课文。
情感态度目标
通过学习,使学生认识到交通安全的重要性,并知道如何预防交通事故的发生。
教学重点
用过去进行时谈论在特定时间内正在发生的事情。
教学难点
正确使用过去进行时,初步掌握when/while引导的时间状语从句。

Step1
Free talk
(5‘)
1.Greet students and have a free talk about what they were doing at 7:00 last night.
2. Have Ss guess what I was doing at that time( Blackboard : What was I doing at that time?)
3.Show some pictures of a friend’s family members’ activities, asking a question: What were they doing at eight o’clock last night?
Lead students to describe the pictures using the Past Continuous.
1.Have a free talk about what they were doing at 7:00 last night.
2.Guess what the teacher was doing
At 7:00 last night.

利用白板的隐藏、放大镜等功能设置真实 情景,引导学生复习过去进行时( 包括陈述句,一般疑问句和特殊疑问)

what’s the most surprising news? Let’s read the news together.
Look and listen carefully.
通过图片和问题,很自然的进入到下一环节。
Step 3
Pre—reading
(10’ )
Have students observe the picture and use the words and expression to describe the picture.(Activity 1)
Have students go through the news and get the main idea of the accident, teacher can use picture and body language to explain the new words and key sentence structure during this period.
look at the picture and describe it using the key words.
Follow the teacher to read the passage . Learn the new words and key sentences .After reading ,get the main idea of the conversation.
通过观察和描述图片使得学生对本文的accident有一个大概的了解和猜测,有助于课文的理解。
将对话编成一个文本的目的是为了更好教授新单词和重点句型。
Step 4 While reading
( 15’ )
Have students watch the video and answer the question : What was the driver doing?
Have students listen and read the conversation loudly.
Have students read in roles.
Have some groups to act out the conversation .Ask students just look at the video and give out the voice.

Listen and read loudly, paying attention to pronunciation and intonation.
3. Read in roles and act out.
1.第一遍看课文的视频,回答问题,练习学生的听力和细节理解能力。
2.跟读课文,练习语音语调。
3.分角色朗读,进一步练习读的能力,也培养学生的小组合作精神。
Step 5 Post—reading
( 8’ )
Get students complete the following advice and check their answers.
T: Do you often obey or break the traffic rules? I got some pictures of your behaviors on the road .Let’s look at them together.
Teacher show the pictures and have students say the sentences using while adverbial clauses.
T: If we don’t obey the traffic rules, what will happen? Let’s
see a short video. Draw a conclusion: Every one has only one life, please cherish it seriously.
T: What should we do to make more people obey the traffic rules? I’d like you to make a proposal (倡议书)l in our school.

Look at the pictures carefully and think about the question seriously.
Meanwhile,
say the sentences using while adverbial.

此环节是读后的一个总结,考察学生对课文的理解和总结能力。
此处展示的违反交规的照片都来源于吴忠学生,更有震撼力和说服性。让学生认识到平时的错误行为。
观看视频,进一步认识到违反交规带来的危害,引发深刻思考。
这个环节是本课情感教育的进一步提升,号召学生不仅从自我做起遵守交规,还要发起倡议,让更多的人觉醒。

Finish the Initiative report after class.
Practise reading the conversation.
Sum up the phrases in the conversation.
